| And then he walked along the edge of the Circle
This is the place where we will post your stories about the Green's Playhouse, The Glasgow Apollo and Satelitte City (The Wee Apollo). As it develops we will break the stories up into sections such as Myths, Gigs I missed, Meeting the Bands, Where are they now etc. No story too trivial and we will only edit out bad language!
New Forum structure on Apollomemories soon.

| I think this gig was sponsored by Platform who were set up to support live jazz.
There were some peopl there who thought he was going to play stuff from the fifties
and early sixties and who had probably not heard any of his work since then. They got
into a fight with soem French students who had heard that Miles was playing funk and
had gone electric. It was sparsely attended and people who had gone to the early show
were allowed to stay for free for the second performance. Miles refused to come out
of his dressing room claiming he'd been booked to play one set and he had done that.
The Platform rep ignored his tirade against mother f***INg honkies and informed him
there would be no cash until he did play. I enjoyed the gig and whilst it wasn't the
same line that recorded the Jack Johnson album it was a similar musical style.
Some of the tour's other gigs were recorded and have came out recently on CD box
sets. The line up might have been Miles Davis (tpt, org) Dave Liebman (ss, ts, fl)
Pete Cosey (g, perc) Reggie Lucas (g) Michael Henderson (el-b) Al Foster (d) James
Mtume Foreman (cga, perc) . Henderson's amp wasn't miked up properly but it was still
pretty funky.
